Please join us in welcoming VFW Post 6418 as a new member of the Charleston Area Alliance & Chamber of Commerce! 🤩

VFW Post 6418: A Nonprofit Community Organization. The VFW's voice has been instrumental in establishing the Veterans Administration, creating a GI bill for the 20th century, developing the national cemetery system, and fighting for compensation for Vietnam vets exposed to Agent Orange and for veterans diagnosed with Gulf War Syndrome. In 2008, VFW won a long-fought victory with the passage of the GI Bill for the 21st Century, providing expanded educational benefits to America's active-duty service members and members of the Guard and Reserves serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The VFW has also fought to improve VA medical center services for women veterans. In addition to helping fund the Vietnam, Korean War, World War II, and Women in Military Service memorials, the VFW in 2005 became the first veterans' organization to contribute to building the new Disabled Veterans for Life Memorial, which opened in November 2010.

Another successful Leadership Kanawha Valley session is in the books! 🎉
Last week, participants took part in a Leadership Assessment with Epiphany Consulting, learned about all the exciting things happening at KRT, and engaged in an insightful social services panel moderated by Dr. Michelle Foster.

The panel featured Sara Busse (Trinity’s Table), Dr. Angie Settle (Health Right), Margaret O’Neal (United Way of Central West Virginia), Sonya Hairston (YWCA Charleston), and Traci Strickland (Kanawha Valley Collective)—highlighting the incredible impact of collaboration across our community.

A special thank you to our title sponsors, WVU Medicine Thomas Hospitals and Fifth Third Bank , for their continued support in making this program possible.
