Loft Hoppers Tour Charleston's Downtown Living

Story by Kristen Sell CHARLESTON - A group of nearly 100 invaded lofts of every shape and size Thursday in the Capital City. It was part of the 2nd annual Loft Walk sponsored by Generation Charleston - the Charleston Area Alliance's young professionals group. The loft hoppers checked out both renovated and not-yet-finished lofts to give them an idea of the possibilities. While many of the options can be pricey, organizer Julio Davalos says there are benefits to living right downtown. "You can balance that with the conveniences of living downtown. With the gas prices where they are certainly if you work downtown you can walk to work and that's a way to offset the costs," said Davalos. Many of those touring the lofts say it's an option they're interested in considering.
