  • About

KPCC is here to help you have a better relationship with yourself and with others. We do this by offering counseling and education events at an affordable cost with sensitivity to the spiritual aspects of life. KPCC is private non-profit counseling center incorporated in the state of West Virginia. Pastoral means peaceful, accepting, simple, ministry. Counseling means support, guidance, healing, help. Center means a starting point, a gathering place.

We serve the Greater Kanawha Valley of West Virginia. KPCC is an accredited, faith-sensitive, counseling center practicing a ministry of acceptance. We start with people where they are, and help them get to where they want to be. We were founded in 1971, and have offices throughout South Central West Virginia. Our staff, our board, and our clients come from all religious and faith backgrounds, including none. What binds us together is a belief in the healing power of acceptance and love.

KPCC is an interfaith, not-for profit counseling and educational institute, and one of the oldest and leading pastoral counseling centers in the nation. Roughly half of the KPCC counselors are ministers, representing a variety of denominations, who have theological degrees in addition to mental health degrees. All are licensed in the state of West Virginia. Some are certified as pastoral counselors by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, some are certified Christian Counselors by the American Association of Christian Counselors. KPCC counselors work in conjunction with medical, psychological, and psychiatric consultants.
