Charleston, W.V. February 6, 2025 – FestivALL Charleston will embark on its 21st year with a pared back schedule of events that goes back to the heart of the organization and its beginnings. The multi-arts, multi-venue festival will take place Wednesday, May 28 – Sunday, June 1 at indoor and outdoor venues around the Capital City.

The city will become a work of art with a variety of events that got their start two decades ago, along with new experiences that will welcome attendees to experience free and low cost events focusing on visual art, music, theater, dance, literature, poetry, and more.

In going “back to the basics FestivALL will focus on flagship events and events that FestivALL directly produces. This includes the Three Things speaker series, the Capitol Street Art Fair and Children’s Art Fair, Art-for-ALL, and the Carriage Trail Walk, to name a few. Attack Theatre will return for interactive performance art throughout the city. FestivALL will also feature Fund for the Arts as they host Charlie West Music Fest on Saturday, May 31.

Fund for the Arts Executive Director Sarah Wright says, “Fund for the Arts is excited to kickstart summer by hosting Charlie West Music Fest featuring the Bob Thompson Unit, Joslyn & The Sweet Compression, Of Good Nature, and Billboard-topping artist, Shwayze. This event helps Fund for the Arts raise money to support 11 local arts groups. We are excited to be a part of FestivALL, and we hope everyone will join us on the lawn at U.C. for this epic party where unforgettable memories will be made.”

Since 2005, FestivALL has served its mission to create, produce, and present vibrant arts experiences and entertainment opportunities and serve as a catalyst for others in the community to do the same. Thanks to hundreds of partners, the organization has expanded and grown to be one of the largest arts organizations of its kind in West Virginia.

After twenty years of continual growth, the FestivALL board and staff are assessing what the future looks like for the organization. In the coming months, FestivALL will embark on a strategic planning process. This process will allow opportunities for feedback from community partners and  will help reestablish a solid foundation that can be built upon for a sustainable future.

“FestivALL is so grateful to ALL of our partners from over the years. By going back to basics this summer, we aim to return with renewed clarity on how we can best serve the arts and our community for years to come,” says Clifton Clark, FestivALL Board President.

Clifton Clark leads an invigorated team of board members. Former Executive Director, Brittany Javins, returns as Interim CEO along with Event and Marketing Specialist, Mallory Richards. They join FestivALL Marketing & Productions Coordinator Kate Daugherty, and many other event and program coordinators.

While event proposals will not be open to the public this year, the Art Fairs applications and Music & Entertainment submissions are open.
