Charleston Area Alliance

How to grow your business with the Alliance’s Business & Expansion Program

The Charleston Area Alliance supports existing businesses in Kanawha County by identifying opportunities to stimulate local job growth through Victoria Russo, the Alliance’s new markets consultant who manages CAA’s business and retention program.

Here’s how Victoria can help your company:

  1. Identify supply chain opportunities within state entities and link them with local suppliers.
  2. Expand your market base through state and federal government contracting, establishing face-to-face meetings with the Regional Contracting Assistance Center (RCAC), and other helpful organizations.
  3. Connect businesses with resources to maximize marketing dollars, which are often limited in local industries.
  4. Help companies hire workers that companies can ‘groom and train,’ providing their workforce with on-the-job training, increasing employee retention and giving companies a more skilled labor pool.

Victoria’s work in the community is effecting positive change. Many companies who have worked with Victoria have seen their businesses expand, whether it’s entering new markets, getting new equipment and materials, or connecting them with training and workforce resources they didn’t have before.

The program is funded by Advantage Valley, the Charleston-to-Huntington metro region’s economic development marketing organization, from a grant secured from the Robert C. Byrd Institute Appalachian Hatchery Project, supported through the Appalachian Regional Commission’s POWER initiative and the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation.
